I have recently been hearing a lot about “December is a slow season” (as well as the summer for that matter). I’ve also heard the question “Why should I bother advertising during this time”? Folks, I’m here to tell you that this is YOUR business and it is what YOU make of it! Life does not stop during these "slow months" and neither should your business…in fact, it can be very detrimental to your business for several reasons:
- · No advertising, no consistency, produces no results. When you are ready to work your business again, it will take several months to see results.
- · Your team will follow your lead. If you are not working, they will not either! It’s sending a negative signal.
It’s wonderful that the holiday season is here in full force! Time to enjoy family and great times with loved ones. I love to spend time decorating & baking for the holidays! I enjoy the special times & memories created with family!
Perhaps you aren’t feeling quite motivated to do as much work for YOUR business as you think you should? My tips for you are:
- · It’s okay to cut back your business hours, just DON’T STOP!
- · Revise your goals to make the list a little lighter, however, still working to achieve them
- · Adjust your time schedule; to allow time for shopping, family gatherings, holiday parties & gift giving, cooking & baking etc.
- · Be CONSISTENT with anything you do; this is crucial
- · Involve your family to combine fun with business building
These are just a couple of ways to keep your business moving forward while still having some joyous holiday fun! The main thing is keep your consistency in place and don’t feel guilty about enjoying the holidays with family & friends! Remember one of the major advantages to being your own boss is you can set your own hours and workload….just don’t stop!
